SAT-tactical edge provides realistic cost effective tactical training. Tactics as opposed to shooting and marksmanship is recognised as the least practiced skill in today high risk law enforcement. Why? Simple, at stage one in the training cycle it is too dangerous. It scares instructors and safety manages. SAT-tactical edge training bypasses the basic stage and offers realistic scenario based training, while maintaining the greatest possible safety.
We do this using the SAT-RAM training system. This includes detailed replicas of most current weapons systems in use by both law enforcement and Al Qaeda. Each system provides a means for the officer to safely deploy a weapons system that is incredibly similar to their actual deployment weapon. This provides a means for realistic and practical scenario based training, utilizing force on force, in a safe and cost effective way.
Each system has approximately the same weight as the similar live fire system. The operating controls are all the same. Accessories can be mounted that provide the same optics or other controls that may be used by an operator. As is the case with many tactical weapons systems, these are fully automatic. At appropriate training distances these systems are surprisingly accurate and allow the officer to perform similarly to how they would in a real life situation. There is little effect based on the temperature or other environmental conditions, and they can be tuned if necessary to take any such consideration into account. They sound like the real thing, yet are not damaging to hearing. In total, SAT-RAM systems provide the user with a realistic training tool, at a reasonable price, and imparts as real a training environment as is safely possible.
Health & safety
Using the SAT-RAM system students cannot be injured during force on force training by mistakenly using live ammunition. Weapons used in the SAT-RAM system are not interchangeable with live fire weapon. The projectiles are unlikely to injure even at very close range. At typical training distances even breaking the skin is not likely. This means officers can be taught advanced tactics without being encumbered with heavy unrealistic protective equipment.
Ease of Use
The SAT-RAM systems are simple, and easy to use in any simulation training environment. You do not have to waste time training a student to use a training aid. I a student can handle a live weapon he can handle the SAT-RAM system. Tactical accessories can be easily installed just like combat weapons. This includes actual sighting systems, slings and magazine carriers as issued by the department meaning the training is even more realistic. There are no expensive training areas with extensive safety zones. Nor is there a need for high risk storage armouries and no danger to the public is a weapon is stolen by any criminal or terrorist.
Cost
In this day and age, cost is always a concern. With the SAT_RAM system tactical training phase costs are virtually eliminated. A SWAT team training bundle for a complete tactical unit costs less that a two man highway patrol team, and since the projectile cost is minimal you can train more often, and with more realism. One thing that is not an advantage to the student is when he is running dodging and weaving his equipment is the same weight, size and shape and requires the same fitness level as when using his operational weapons.
SAT Tactical Edge is a pure tactics course, specifically designed for protection and corporate security professionals. It covers close protection tactics and hostage rescue scenarios including multi-room team tactics. SAT Team instructors are all former Special Forces from either the SAS-Delta force or USA Special Force units. They have been trained in the best academies in Europe and the USA. All have been involved in extensive operations in hostile environments working in covert or specialised teams. They are not to be confused with former infantry weapons instructors who have redesigned infantry skill for police or security work by blending the sport of practical shooting with infantry training.
